"Writing “Bones” felt like putting a very condensed piece of emotion into a song. It almost felt like it wrote itself in just a few minutes.
Feeling very hurt and frustrated over a curtain situation, I took the guitar that lay on my sofa and just started mumbling these words “I don’t trust you, or anyone”.
It felt like it was all I needed- just to say it as it is out loud. Saying it already made me feel so much better.
Then while recording the album, I felt that this intimate bedroom vibe should be a part of the final version as well, so I recorded it live- guitar and vocal, added a bit of ambient vocals, and that was it.
Bringing it to the live session, I wanted these vocals to be a part of the arrangement, and felt that it would be an interesting interpretation to now be surrounded by my band who are backing me up, but still singing these lyrics. I recorded the live version in the same way I recorded the album version (even with the same mic!) only now, instead of me singing the backing vocals, I have my band singing them, meaning I let someone in, and that felt great."

lyrics
I don’t trust you or anyone
I don’t trust you or anyone
Why did I let you carry my stones
I saw your weak bones
I saw your weak bones
I don’t like you or anyone
Seeing through me
Then letting down
Why did you let me
Bare all my stones
You saw my weak bones
You saw my weak bones
